Getting started on the global week of free events

Now is a very good time to begin to plan for the global week of free Breema events taking place January 12-19, 2013. At the Breema Center we've seen that starting early enables us to give our upcoming events the best possible promotional support, organization, and energy.

Becoming part of a global event like this can open up some new possibilities for introducing Breema to your local yoga studio, or perhaps a nearby school, business, or other organization. If there is a place you have been thinking about approaching, this could be the best time to do that! Also, free events can be promoted widely in calendars and online listings.

Some ideas that arose in the instructor meeting we had during the Fall Intensive were to offer free classes, free mini-sessions, distributing coupons for free sessions, hosting an open house, or even using the unique nature of this event to get on a local radio program or podcast. Choosing an idea that appeals to you and beginning to put a little energy to it every day will bring aliveness and support.

We'd love to hear your ideas and any questions you may have about this event! You can add a comment to the blog, or email Denise at denise.breema@gmail.com.

Gudrun Lieger recently taught a workshop with Sylvia Schreiber and Senija Schaffer at Schloss-Schule Massage School in St. Georgen an der Stiefing, Austria. Gudrun gave us this report:

This massage school is in a small castle, and they are so wonderful. They don't ask for any minimum number or place any conditions on us: they just wish to support us.  They even bought a carpet for our room! We do two workshops there every year, and next year we will have three weekends.

We three instructors had been meeting for two months, almost every week, to prepare and practice, and to talk with each other about "What does body-mind connection mean to me?" We saw that having this question alive for us really supported bringing this to the workshop, and brought the principles of Body Comfortable, Full Participation, and No Extra very alive. The participants were not regular massage students at the school: the workshop was open to all and we had a variety of students. There was a lot of openness to essential aspects of the Breema teaching. People brought essential questions, and were very interested in the unifying aspect of Breema. It was as if we had known each other for a long time already.
