Finding new venues for teaching Breema, and the recent workshop in Sweden

Graz Intensive 2013

Birthe recently returned after teaching in Denmark and Sweden, here is what she told me about the two events:

A Danish woman found out about Breema through the Breema Channel on YouTube, and contacted me about organizing an introductory event in Odense, Denmark. She is an excellent organizer and has a very large network. 18 people came—many from various healing professions like counseling, bodywork, massage and physical therapy. It was possible to connect with them through their professional interest and then bring out that Breema is also a practice for daily life. They seemed touched and inspired by this.  We had planned for a 2 1/2 hour workshop and half-hour afterward for coffee and talking, but there were so many sincere and interested questions that we went the full 3 hours before ending the class! They definitely want more, so we are talking about organizing additional introductory events for the next time I come to Denmark, and then a weekend workshop sometime later.

The workshop in Sweden was wonderful, in a large and beautiful room in Ulf Bräutigan's home, a converted schoolhouse. About half of the group came from Stockholm including several Self-Breema instructors and half were more local. Many people who came are movement or natural health practitioners who really appreciated the aspect of bringing presence into movement and then into daily life. There was a reporter who found out about the workshop through Facebook and came to experience Breema and write an article about it—she was just glowing afterward.  Everyone was really happy they came. I feel like I made good contacts at the workshop that could lead to more opportunities to teach Breema in Sweden.

Here's a link to the Breema Channel on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/user/TheBreemaChannel.  You can include this in your emails and on your promotional material.

Salena recently taught a workshop at tragantDansa—a dance studio in Barcelona. Here is a summary of her experience.

It was a very supportive experience to teach in a different setting. The majority of the participants were my age, they were all (7 people) completely new to Breema and they were all open and willing to benefit and we all benefited. These were people that probably would not have found Breema directly by coming to classes with us, so I had the opportunity to present to a new group. I'm inspired by that and wish to maybe contact other centers with different activities and offer Breema in new venues. I asked myself: how did I get to teach in this place? And I remembered the first year I came to Barcelona, I went to this dance school with a Breema flyer, spoke in person with the owner about Breema and offered her a free Breema session. Remembering that gave me the wish to offer Breema presentations and speak directly with the owners of other centers, schools, and yoga places.  I saw how a simple step can open many doors. I'm very grateful. —Salena
